BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Mount Druitt Neighbour Aid needs you. If you can spare a couple of hours a week/ fortnight and are prepared to attend orientation and workshops, you too can become a member of a committed team of people, providing an essential service to the community.


Mt. Druitt Neighbour Aid, operating since 22nd April, 1991 is a not-for-profit organisation providing social support services to frail aged people 65 and over.
 
Funded by the Department of Health, Mt. Druitt Neighbour Aid is a Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) service provider. Our aim is to assist individuals who are frail aged in order to enhance their quality of life, keep their independence and delay entry into an Aged Care Facility.
MISSION STATEMENT

Mt Druitt Neighbour Aid aims to provide a home visiting support service for frail aged residents of the Mt Druitt area to improve their quality of life and social networks

 
    

Who can refer to the service?

\Most referrals come through My Aged Care but anyone can refer a person to Mt. Druitt Neighbour Aid – relatives, carers, doctors, other Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) service providers or you can refer yourself.

Who can access Mt Druitt Neighbour Aid services?

Frail aged people 65 and over.

How often can we help?

Services are provided by trained volunteers weekly, fortnightly or to suit clients’ needs.

What does the service cost?

Costs vary from one area to another but are minimal. A small contributionis appreciated when transport is provided for shopping and medical appointments with the exception of home visits which do not incur a cost.
